Amidst the ongoing Bollywood and South film industry debate, Akshay Kumar has advised people to not get carried away and said that it is unfortunate that we keep dividing ourselves. Ahead of the release of his film ‘Prithviraj’, Akshay interacted with the media and touched upon various topics like remakes, the debate of Bollywood and South film industry, and more.
While speaking to India Today, Akshay question why people have a problem with remakes. “If a good film is being made in South and we buy its rights and remake it, what is wrong in it? He said.
Akshay also went on to say that people on Twitter have become critics of talents, and like to give their opinion on everything. “People question our talent. It is not about talent, we all have it, it is about the story connecting with the audience. Now people on Twitter have become critics and want to have an opinion on everything.
Why? I would say don’t get carried away. We are all trying to do our work. It is unfortunate that this debate is happening, and we are all becoming victims of it. Why are we being called the North and South industry? All our languages are good, we are talking our mother tongues and we are all beautiful. It is unfortunate that we keep dividing ourselves,” he was quoted saying.
Directed by Chandraprakash Dwivedi ‘Prithviraj’ also stars Manushi Chhillar, Sonu Sood and Sanjay Dutt. It is slated for a theatrical release on June 3.
