Meanwhile, the South Africa’s multinational telecommunications company, known as MTN Group, has yet again emerged as the biggest company in Sub Saharan Africa (SSA) by market capitalisation, according to latest monthly market report by AfricanFinaicials.
The latest report prepared by Hartland-Peel is an update as of March 2022 and covers the Top 30 companies in Sub-Sahara Africa ex SA by market capitalisation. Below are highlights from the report.
According to the report, the highest market capitalization is MTN Group among other companies in the region, followed by East Africa’s largest network operator, Safaricom.
Furthermore, Dangote Cement ranked the third on the new list, followed by MTN Nigeria, and Airtel Africa.
It will be recall that as of February 2022, the market capitalisation of the Top 30 companies was US$117bn.
