Sunday Igboho Restricted Movement To Cotonou Amid Release By Benin Republic Govt


Shortly after the released of Yoruba nation agitator “Sunday Igboho”, authorities at the Republic of Benin have restricted his movement to Cotonou despite releasing him from detention.

Igbobo was set free on Monday but his counsel, “Chief Yomi Aliyyu (SAN)”, had in a text message to react to inquiry about Igboho’s movement said the condition outlined by the government of the country was that he should not depart Cotonou for any reason.

Aliyyu said the Yoruba Nation agitator, who was arraigned on July 19, 2021 was set free to his medical doctors obviously to undergo medical treatment.

He statement,
“This is to inform you that Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Igboho Oosa has been released from prison to his medical practitioners under the agreement that he should not leave the medical centre or Cotonou for any reason.”

“Praises should be given to two prominent Yoruba personalities to wit Prof Wole Soyinka and Prof ( Banji) Akintoye for this turn around in our client’s matter.”

Recall that igboho’s counsel had in October 2021 expresses his concern in an interview with BBC Yoruba that Igboho was diagnosed with kidney problem.

However, Aliyyu said Igboho developed the illness while he was detention and had been critically ill.

Chief Aliyyu said,

“Igboho was not diagnosed with this sickness before he was arrested in Cotonou. It was so critical that they had to rush him to the hospital.

“I can’t tell if he has been returned to the prison from the hospital but what I know is, he’s battling ill health and it seems his kidney and lungs are already being affected.

“Even though I cannot tell which part of his body the sickness has really affected, I know it has to do with his internal organs.”

Ford Company Inaugurated Its Bi-Directional Home Charging Station At A Surprisingly Affordable Price


The Ford company has launched its new Ford Charge Station Pro. A bi-directional home charging station that is expected to work with the upcoming F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck.

The new development is offered to customers at a very affordable price, noting that it enables backup power and can basically replace a generator or Tesla Powerwall.

When the Ford company launched the F-150 Lightning, one among the features that created the most buzz was its support for bi-directional charging: Ford intelligent Backup Power.

This means that the electric pickup truck has the capacity to send power back to power a home, another vehicle, or to send virtually anything it can plug into.

With this new development, the feature that we have seen more and more in electric vehicles lately, including in the recent Hyundai Ioniq 5, but it’s so amazing in an electric pickup truck since pickups require bigger battery packs.

With this bigger battery package, the electric trucks now have the power to use some of their energy capacity to provide backup power in case of an outage. however, it could also replace a home generator or home battery pack, just like the Tesla Powerwall.

For you to be able to use the capacity at home, Ford-F150 Lightning, the owners are going to need a bi-directional charging station into which they can plug their electric pickup.

Now the Ford company has officially unveiled the Ford Charge Station Pro. The launch of this charge station, will acts as both a charging station and bi-directional charger.

As for now, you can’t place an order because the page shows it as “sold out,” but it reveals the price of the station to be at the rate of $1,310:

$1310 is the standalone price of the charger and gateway/installation, just like with a Powerwall, obviously add significant additional cost to make it work properly.

While that’s significantly more expensive than your average home charger – for example, Tesla’s popular Wall Connector is only $550 – the Ford Charge Station Pro is not your average wall charger.

At First, it’s rated at 80 amp, which makes it twice the capacity of the average charger, and it will enable Ford’s Intelligent Backup Power bi-directional charging capacity.

In view with the 80 amps of max current, Ford claimed that the charging station can add 30 miles of range per hour to the F-150 Lightning Extended Range and it is limited to 19 miles per hour for F-150 Standard Range.

In the meantime, the system can provide up to 9.6 kW directly to your home if combined with Ford’s Home Integration System during the time installation.

Speaking of installation, the $1,310 price tag doesn’t include the installation fee. Buyers are recommended to find a local electrician to install it for them. But if you plan on using the station for backup power, then you are probably better off working with Sunrun, Ford’s recommended installer who also is said to be the biggest Tesla Powerwall certified installer.

Other players in this field include Wallbox with the new Quasar 2 bidirectional charger, however the company has yet to announce EV partners or installers
